We ended up here on a whim (seems fairly common per other recent reviews) while in the area. I really had no idea what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with the layout and the "open air" feeling from the back patio was such a pleasant experience. The one female bartender was a bit interesting with very long hair that she would whisk away with her hands and would draw along her workspace. That was perhaps the only negative for us in that it just didn't feel quite as clean as a hair tie might have helped. We ordered beers and ciders on draft, so no commentary on mixed drinks. B+ for solid atmosphere.

I had the Elvis burger that was on special for $8. Wasn't expecting much until it came out! It was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The fries were great, and the service was fast and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

As a new biz they have some kinks to work out. Slow, slow, slow with just ok service. Don't try this place til they've been around awhile. The concept n decor is neat.... The service, speed, n food is average.

My wife and I love Draught House 50. We eat there at least once a week and enjoy taking family and friends for lunch or dinner. Food is awesome and not overly priced. Generous servings and a fun atmosphere help make it our favorite place to indulge.

Craft beers decent selection but waiters have no craft beer training. Don't get the pizza not good sauce and it was barely warm. I won't go back. Too expensive for what it was

I am giving the Draft House 50 two stars because the management choses not to act on the very reasonable suggestions made by Yelp reviewers. The music is so loud I became hoarse over dinner conversation. The service is staff is poorly trained. The food is boring, uninspired, and too expensive for the quality served. Draft House 50 could be so much better with correct management.

We live close by and have a few good visits. Mainly lunch and weekday evenings. I have to say this review is on our last visit. You may determine that I am rating on just this evenings visit. I feel that they deserve a one star and that is being very generous. We went in tonight and realized that this place is inconsistent. My big issue was the music it is VERY Loud! So loud that you could not even talk to anyone. Let me share something that I hope that the owners understand. If people are talking they are ordering. They are enjoying and wanting to continue to enjoy. Let me put it this way very simple... More people that are enjoying and talking and able to hear each other they are buying more beers and you all get to make more money. Wait are you all able to hear me the music was VERY VERY loud and I was unable to hear or talk to my wife. I left a 3/4 of a beer and 3/4 of a pizza because it was so loud. Oh you can't hear me... Well the waitress let me know that they were ok with turing down the music but after 8 pm it turns into a Bar. Wait this is sports bar all the time. As I stated the music was VERY loud and not enjoyable. To the Waitress I left you a a $0 dollar tip because you felt that it was ok that your customer have a poor experience when you agreed that the music was loud. Well maybe we will go back and have a better experience but I think it is going to be a long while before I chose to go back.

The drinks are at a good price and size! If you like spinach artichoke dip, you must get it as an appetizer! That was delicious! I ordered the steak salad for lunch, and it was okay. The portions were huge so that was nice for left overs :) However, I've had better steak. All in all, the staff and atmosphere were great! I would go there again. I would just order a different meal.

On a whim, my wife and I decided to stop in for a bite to eat and a beer while shopping in WDSM. Not knowing what to expect when we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised. Decor was well thought out, garage doors opened on the walls allowed in a nice breeze and the food options were inventive and fun. My wife ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich with sweet potato fries and I went classic with the All American Cheeseburger. Crab cakes were incredible, per my wife, and the burger was probably the best I have had in Iowa so far. Both were on brioche buns and included a (un)healthy amount of fries. I would have preferred the fries to be a bit more crisp. The beer selection is on par with what you would expect from a draught house. Local selections and some great regional and national choices. Service was excellent, but given the time of day (mid afternoon) it was a pretty light crowd. With the TV setup (easily the best I have seen in iowa) guessing this place is packed for games and the weekends. Heads up there. Two burgers, fries and two beers, tab was $35.00. Yikes! Little rich, but compared to the other options, this is worth the additional money if you have it.

I just went into this location for lunch. There was only one lady running the bar and serving all the tables. The service was horrible! She was so rude to me that I will never go back there ever again. Get some help if you can't handle it, or find a different job!

I went there for lunch. We had good service and the food was pretty good too! I had the special, which was fish and chips. It was very crunchy and not greasy. The tartar sauce that came with was good and they also provided malt vinegar packets. The fries were ok, nothing amazing. My friend had a philly cheesesteak flatbread and he said it was very good. It looked hot and cheesy. I think he ordered chips with it, and they looked good. I would definitely go back again. I though the prices were in line with the food too.

1st time here had no idea it was even here. Looked promising. Friendly eager staff good looking menu. Food was prompt and tasted above average.nice selection of beers(many Iowa choices). With all that the total experience was....okay. Don't know why so I'm going to give it another try. Don't stay away on my review give it a try it has all the makings to be a good chain sports bar. Maybe it's just me?

We stopped for a couple beers on a Friday after work. Great service, very attentive. We didn't eat but saw some good looking food going out. Plenty of tap beer selection, cold and frosty glass each time. We plan on going back for a meal, I will update on how it was. Parking is tight.

This was first visit, it was a Saturday night, but the place wasn't very busy. Yet we had extremely slow service. Food: We decided to have a few drinks and split an order of sausage nachos. It took 25 minutes to get our nachos...they were chicken...and soggy. All in all the food was nothing to write home about. Our waiter was uninterested in helping us get more drinks or additional service. Drinks: decent selection of bottles and draughts...not very many local beers for a local draught house. Again, nothing exciting to write home about. Service: the barkeep was a nice gentleman. He was the only one who greeted us and said goodbye. He also stopped by our table a few times to check on us personally. The place is small, which is alright, but extremely loud (like a college bar). next time i want a nice drink and some appetizers, I will probably find another local joint.

Restaurant is very new. Tried the wings, the sauce drowned out the chicken. Not impressed with the food so far. Beer selection is good. Variety of screens to watch sports. Service is better than average, but not notable. Great facility. Give em time and these guys could potentially hold their own.

I really can't speak for the food. Atmosphere and service suck. Walked in, no one greeted us - this was Sunday, 11/2, lunch time. Apparently it is seat yourself. Not a single word from the wait staff!! Usually someone says "hi guys! Seat yourself" or something. Any thing? So we sat at the bar although every single booth was empty. However, the TVs are lined up above the booths, so everyone would be staring at you. Awkward. Whatever genius thought that up, well, if it was my business they'd be fired. Sooo...Sat at the bar, waited, waited, waitresses too busy to even say "hi" apparently. Or maybe we were invisible. Waited, waited, walked out. Will never go back. Good work.

After a frantic few hours of helping a friend move, we decided to grab lunch and drinks at Draughthouse 50 - primarily because it is within walking distance of her new place. I work down the street and pass it several times a week but had yet to actually stop in to check it out. The set-up is perfect - you can dine inside or outside and the way the bar has seating in and out also is a great idea. One of the best features in my opinion is the music - I have now been there twice and the playlist was just fantastic both times. My friends and I sang pretty much non-stop during both visits. Our server the first time was Tracy and she was friendly if not over-bearing and also a tad on the tacky side - reaching across people to grab plates and place drinks. Marcus was my waiter for most of my second visit as I sat at the bar and he and the guy after him seem to have mastered the balance of service and leaving us in peace to enjoy each other's company. Now - for the good stuff - the food is great!!! The cilantro ranch chicken was enjoyed on both visits and it is delightful - there are two sauces and one is on each side of the bun. This can be a bit annoying if you don't want to eat both buns as I usually don't but I understand why they do it this way and it isn't their fault I don't want all of that bread. One lady had the All day burger and said it was great - the bacon was done perfectly. I had the mushroom burger - I had them add sautéed onions and even though it was as big as my head, I devoured this very quickly. Everyone opted for fries - one gal and I chose the sweet potato fries. When her plate came out first, the fries were extremely burnt. My friend looked horrified and I spoke up - I told Tracy that if the sweet potato fries are done like that, I didn't want them and to give me regular fries. My friend spoke up and said the same thing - the server then went inside and came back and said that they were overdone and new ones would be made - my friend still wanted regular ones and I said that I will take properly cooked sweet potato fries. I then asked if I could still have my sandwich as everyone else had been given their food so I could get started while the fries were being cooked. I was quite surprised that she delivered my friend's order with the side looking like that - servers should be able to realize when something isn't right and have the authority to make a call to correct it. Our server was nice enough - a bit obnoxious at times and absent minded at others - I she came to the table twice without refilling my water so I finally went to the bar & one gal asked for some ketchup and mayonnaise with her order and then once again because she forgot it. I think everyone had beer or water the first time. The second time I went, I had some Dewar's, Jameson and Johnny- each on the rocks as I do not like Pepsi. Many very good things about this spot for me - a few negatives but overall, I predict that I will be visiting fairly often.

We arrived at Draught House 50 and waited 5 minutes before the bartender greeted us with "What do you want." We ordered. Two out of five of us found something weird floating in our drinks, kind of looked like snot. Our whole group was uncomfortable with how unwelcoming the staff was. After we paid the tab, she threw the book down and stomped away without a thank you or anything. We felt like a burden on the staff for being there. Where is the management?

Very very slow service.. Transferred our tab from bar to table and got really nasty attitude from the server. Waited about 15 minutes to even get greeted had to go to the bar to get service. It was busy so I assume that's what happened, but waited over 45 minutes for food.. Hmmm.

The service was okay. It was my birthday and they have no dessert. They were somewhat kind.? They really could care less if we were there. Not pleased!

First time we visited, the place was so loud and crowded on a Friday after work that we left. This time, Sunday for dinner, was quieter and seemed to be at half capacity. By the time we left, the outdoor patio was full (except for our two seats). Husband had a root beer burger and I had a mushroom burger. The bun is soft and tender, toasted, and the meats were juicy and flavorful. The mushrooms seemed to come from a jar or can rather than fresh. I would really like to see a single patty/single meat sandwich for a smaller, non-appetizer option. The potato chips were top notch. The onion rings are breaded to be crunchy, but not crispy. Our service was attentive, asking if I would like a patio heater moved nearby and turned on. Pricing was a great value. Ladies room was very clean and had a touch-free paper towel dispenser.

Ate lunch with my wife and just had burgers and cheese balls. Great food, great service...not typical bar food. Good variety of food and enjoyed the root beer habanero bbq sauce.

Good variety on the menu. Skip the pizza! $5 moscow mules = good price. So loud there. Hard to have a conversation with friends.

Came in on a Sunday evening. The place is slower. Impressive beer lineup, sadly food does not live up to the menu description. We ordered the baked Brie appetizer. In a puddle of oil, there were some sundried tomatoes and chunks of cheese. When asking waiter if this was the correct appearance, he took it back to ask manager and apparently the cup of olive oil and grease is normal. Very disappointing when expecting the nice creamy texture of Brie cheese. I ordered some celery with the dip and the ends of the stalks were still dirty. We ordered the wings and the root beer burger. The wings were smoked. I ordered the hot buffalo. The wings were average. The flavor of the smoke was overpowered by the sauce which was all heat and little flavor. The burger was good but nothing extravagant for a signature marked menu item. This restaurant could benefit from better presentation, quality control, and service. Truthfully a nice polite visit from the manager would have been beneficial. Lingering behind the bar and not visiting a twice in one sitting dissatisfied customer is just bad manners. Having been to the other draught house locations, this was a disappointment. Beautiful restaurant and nice environment, hope it's just kinks getting worked out.
